Brown Cancer Center Biostatistics Core

About

The BCC Biostatistics Core offers statistical expertise and collaboration to BCC investigators across all phases of research, including basic science, translational, clinical, epidemiological, and prevention research. In addition to standard biostatistics services, we employ advanced statistical methods for clinical trial designs, develop diagnostic and predictive models using diverse data types, such as cytometry data, omics data, and clinical data. We assess causal effect and personalized treatment based on both randomized controlled trials and real-world data. Our team works alongside BCC researchers to generate new insights into the nature of cancer and to develop innovative, effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Services & Rates

  • Collaborate in designing experiments and clinical trials, monitoring data collection procedures, analyzing resulting data to achieve study objectives.
  • Collaborate in developing diagnostic and prognostic prediction models using different types of data (e.g., cytometry data, omics data, and clinical data) to support preclinical, translational, and clinical studies.
  • Collaborate in evaluating treatment effects and treatment heterogeneity of new intervention or procedure based on randomized controlled trials and real-world data.
  • Collaborate in utilizing large clinical database, claims database, electronic health records database, Medicare and Medicaid database for cancer control and prevention studies.
  • Training: Biostatistics core can provide training to BCC researchers on biostatistics methods and tools.

At present, there are no fees associated with this service. However, a fee-based model may be considered for future operations.

All research investigators at the UofL have access to the Brown Cancer Center Biostatistics Core. Before being added to the queue, biostatistics support requests are carefully reviewed to ensure efficient prioritization and resource allocation.
