Employees are required to complete all EHS trainings appropriate for their work environment. In addition to DEHS training, supervisors must provide lab-specific training. The training matrix link below provides a list of training courses that apply to specific job duties.

Commonly required courses include:

  • General Lab Safety & Hazardous Waste
  • Basic Biosafety
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Radiation Safety
  • IBC and NIH Guidelines
  • Shipping Biologicals and Dry Ice

To access online courses and register for classroom sessions, login to SciShield using your UofL credentials. Some courses are offered by appointment only, or must be provided by your supervisor or building coordinator. Please contact DEHS for scheduling or assistance.
